Wild Strawberry Cocktails

This weekend I wanted to share that along with the previously mentioned honeysuckle for a sweet lemonade, something else popping up this spring are these juicy little wild strawberries. Muddled a bit and mingling with rum they make for a swell Fizz. Here's the mix:

Wild Strawberry Fizz Recipe

Something popping up this spring are these juicy little wild strawberries. Muddled a bit and mingling with rum they make for a swell Fizz. Don't have wild strawberries on hand? No problem, grab a bottle of Toschi Fragoli or use small strawberries from the farmers market.

Ingredients

• 2 ounces Rum
• 2 ounces muddled wild strawberries (or Toschi Fragoli)
• 2 ounces strawberry pomegranate juice
• A dash simple syrup
• A dash lime juice
• 4 to 6 ounces Schweppes ginger ale or club soda
• 2 Tablespoon wild whole strawberries

Instructions

Wash and clean wild strawberries well, removing any green stems and/or leaves.Muddle wild strawberries and place all ingredients except for soda in a cocktail shaker, shaking well. Strain and pour into glasses, add ice and top up with soda. Add whole wild strawberries and stir. If wild strawberries are out of season and you're using Toschi Fragoli the simple syrup can be omitted. Enjoy!
