DIY Potato Wrapping Paper
Have plain old craft paper &/or little hands itching to do something? Oh, and a potato or two? Try this:
THE HOW-TO
What You Will Need:
- Potatoes
- A sharp pairing knife
- Plain paper such as craft or butchers paper (recycled is great)
- Acrylic paint
- Hair spray (optional)
How To Do It:
Cut a large potato in half and try to dry the cut end as well as possible. Trace a design using the knife or a sharpie marker. Cut along the tracing to deepen it into the potato face.
Cut along the sides and then again down next to your design, remove the potato slices so that you're left with a raised design in the center (mine was a super easy triangle). Dry the face off again.
Dip in a plate of paint and get stamping! A light spray over the completely dry design afterwards can further prevent possible transfer. Have fun!
