Día de los Muertos Dinner Party
A little while ago it dawned on me that this post will be number one thousand. Why let a milestone like that slip away unnoticed? Add in the time of year and a party theme popped right into mind... Día de los Muertos! Only this time I'm celebrating everyone who has helped so much in making the blog what it is today. A huge thank you one and all! Now on to a few snapshots of the spicy evening...
Homemade spicy roasted garlic flavored butter
Demitasses' of Mexican hot chocolate
Spicy habanero infused tomato soup
A few handmade paper flowers, lots of candles and beautiful Tillandsia from Mexico c/o the Air Plant Shop were a big hit on the table and being able to pop the enchiladas from Old El Passo into the oven, sans tedious prepping, really made this evening possible. A sprinkle of sliced black olives and cilantro was the finishing touch. And boy was the Guajillo chile sauce kicking. It surprisingly was rather similar, heat wise, to the habanero infused tomato soup. Let's just say the creamy Mexican hot chocolate ended up being a great fire extinguisher at the end. All incredibly delicious!
