 | Thanks to the amazing artist Christine Alvarado I was clued into the One World, One Heart project created by Lisa Swifka where bloggers have come together to giveaway their original creations! So to kick off the redesign of our site and feeling this is very much in the spirit of GaveThat.com, here is your chance to win an original piece of art by yours truly. |
In this very rare event, the grand prize of this giveaway will be a miniature painting from my sold out folk art collection. I kept this tiny rustic piece because I formed such an attachment to it--which for me is somewhat odd. When it comes to my art, I'm the sort of artist who feels a piece isn't truly done until it finds its way into another persons home or collection. Still, I think it can be extremely good to give things you deeply love and that is what I hope to do here!
- About The Prize: Title: The Drying Room. This is one of the last works in the collection and features a little black cat resting on an old chair. A broom lays on the floor and herbs (roses and lavender) hang overhead to dry. It's painted on a very imperfect wooden cornice which allows it to stand on its own. It's signed, dated and features my wax seals. (8.9 x 8.9 cm / Mixed Media). Dated 2005.
