Hella Jongerius + IKEA + UNICEF = Whimsical PS Series

I absolutely adore these latest offerings from designer Hella Jongerius for IKEA's latest PS Series (see Jongerius' past pieces for them here) featuring traditional Swedish fairy tales transferred to whimsical wall hangings. Patched together using a flux of materials such as printed cottons and wool felt are the characters Gullspira (goat), Pelle (rabbit), and Mikkel (fox). Even better this collection also teams up with UNICEF with the pieces being constructed by women in small Indian villages. Along with Jongerius' signature, each piece is also signed by the actual woman crafting it. The collection will be available in select IKEA stores this summer, 2009.
